Admission Updates 

Early Action Deadline*: December 1, 2025 

Students who apply by this date (and submit all required materials) receive priority consideration for: 

  • Admission decisions   

  • Lewis Honors College   

  • Academic and competitive scholarships   

Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, if they have not already, for maximum consideration for academic scholarships. Scholarship awards are limited and will be offered pending early application and availability of funds.

Regular Decision Deadline: February 15, 2026  

Students applying after the Early Action Deadline will be considered for undergraduate admission, but cannot be considered for the Lewis Honors College or academic and competitive scholarships.

*Reminder: To qualify for Early Action, students must submit their application, fee or waiver, official transcript and ACT/SAT scores (if applicable) by December 1, 2025. 


FAFSA is Open!

The 2026-27 FAFSA is now open! Please remind your students to list the University of Kentucky (using our school code 001989) so they can be considered for both federal aid and UK institutional awards that take financial need into account. 


Fall 2025 Enrollment Snapshot at UK 

We are proud to share a few highlights from our preliminary enrollment data: 

  • Total Preliminary Enrollment: 38,719 students (including nearly 28,000 undergraduates) 

  • Living on Campus: More than 8,100 students – up by 270 from last year.  

  • This number will grow again next year with the opening of a new residence hall, adding nearly 700 beds. Learn more about the new residence hall here. 

  • Graduation success: Our preliminary five-year and six-year graduation rates both hit an all-time high of more than 71%, keeping UK among the Top 100 public universities in the nation based on the most recent data.  

Kentucky continues to excel, and your students are a big part of our story!

It’s race time in the “Horse Capital of the World!” 

Fifteen minutes from campus, Keeneland Racecourse welcomes the best Thoroughbreds, jockeys and trainers every Wednesday through Sunday this October. Students and locals alike soak in the tradition and energy of the best horse racing.

Campus Housing
 
The UK Campus Housing and Dining application opened on Sept. 8. Students admitted to UK may apply at any time. Applying early increases the chance of securing preferred housing. Priority for room selection is based on your housing application completion date.

UK offers a variety of residence hall options, with flexible suite-style living designed to meet students’ needs. Families can view model rooms during campus tours and orientations.

UK Fun Fact
 
October is homecoming season at UK! This year, UK Football played host to the Texas Longhorns on Saturday, October 18. But did you know UK’s first homecoming events were held in the spring? The tradition of Wildcats returning in the fall for football dates to around 1915. Today, with 300,000+ alumni worldwide, BBN pride stretches far beyond graduation and our campus borders!
