This is an easily printable, one-sheet reference that highlights the top things you want to know: application requirements, majors, deadlines, and QR codes to scan for scholarships, dual credit/AP information, and more.


⚠️ Important Updates to Know

  1. Recommendation letters are now optional: We are committed to making the application process as smooth as possible for our applicants. With this in mind, we have eliminated the requirement for a recommendation letter as part of the application. Letters are now optional. Our aim is to streamline the application while focusing on the holistic review of each candidate. [See More]

  2. New Majors & Minors: We have introduced four new majors and four new minors, offering even more opportunities for students to explore their passions and prepare for their future careers. [See More]

  3. Fall Preview Day on October 21: We invite you and your students to join us on October 21 for our Fall Preview Day. This event provides a firsthand glimpse into our campus life, academic programs, and vibrant community. It's an excellent opportunity for prospective students to engage with faculty, staff, and current students. Registration will become available soon.

  4. Nationally-ranked Pioneer Athletics: Transy is an NCAA Division III institution which offers athletic success on a regional and national level! If you have a student-athlete interested in being recruited, please have them complete the Prospective Student Athlete Questionnaire, which will be sent to the head coach of each sport.

As  students begin to finalize their college choice and look towards next steps, we want to remind students that they will be able to find all of their next steps in their   New Cards Gateway . Our   First Time Freshman Guide   also details step-by-step information about any incoming first year student’s next steps. Any student who was admitted to the University of Louisville without test scores on file or who does not meet the minimum math and/or reading requirements for their academic program may need to take the   Accuplacer . The Accuplacer is a course placement test given by the College Board that academic advisors will use to place the student into a math or English course. As a reminder, UofL does not accept KYOTE scores to be used for course placement, and KYOTE scores will not replace a student’s Accuplacer requirements.   . Hello counselors and greetings from the University of Kentucky!  September is an exciting month for the University of Kentucky! We have some key updates to share from our campus:   ADMISSION We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve begun sending out admission decisions for students who have completed their applications. If your student’s application is fully submitted and meets our criteria, they can receive your admission decision in as little as two weeks. We operate on a rolling basis throughout the year. Accepted students will receive electronic notification through their applicant portal, followed by an admission packet in the mail.
