Hello counselors and greetings from the University of Kentucky!  September is an exciting month for the University of Kentucky! We have some key updates to share from our campus:   ADMISSION We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve begun sending out admission decisions for students who have completed their applications. If your student’s application is fully submitted and meets our criteria, they can receive your admission decision in as little as two weeks. We operate on a rolling basis throughout the year. Accepted students will receive electronic notification through their applicant portal, followed by an admission packet in the mail. You can find detailed information about the next steps for admitted students in our acceptance booklet, available online here.     REMINDER: DECEMBER 1 DEADLINE December 1 is our Early Action deadline, and we strongly encourage all students to apply through this track if they want to be considered for admission to the Lewis Honors College, competitive and academic scholarships and if they plan to live in on-campus housing. To meet this deadline, all supporting materials – including the application fee, high school transcripts and ACT/SAT scores (if applicable) must be received or postmarked by December 1, 2024.  WILDCAT LIVING: ON-CAMPUS HOUSING Once admitted to the University of Kentucky, students can begin their Wildcat Living Campus Housing and Dining application. This application became available on September 9 for both returning and first-time students. Applying early increases the likelihood of securing preferred housing options. Priority for room selection is influenced by the admissions application track and the date the Campus Housing and Dining application is completed.   UK Campus Housing offers a variety of room types to meet our students' living preferences and needs. Learn more about Wildcat Living here.    WE WANT TO MEET YOUR STUDENTS! This fall, we have a variety of opportunities for students to engage with us, both on and off campus. Please share these events with your students:  Big Blue Open Houses These events provide students and families with a full day of tailored programming at UK. Attendees can explore the campus, meet with academic programs, visit a resource fair and more. We’re hosting Big Blue Open Houses in September, October and November.  Campus Visits We offer campus visit experiences year-round! Students can register for an admissions session and guided campus tour, as well as additional events or meetings that match their interests.   UK Previews Our Preview events are a great way for students to connect with us closer to home. Throughout September and October, we’ll be holding events both in-state and out-of-state. These gatherings allow students to meet UK staff, attend an admissions presentation and discover what UK can offer them.  Students, families and school counselors can also schedule phone or virtual meetings with our admissions counselors here.   COLLEGE OF EDUCATION: FUTURE EDUCATORS OPEN HOUSE Prospective students and their guests are invited to the Future Educators Open House at the University of Kentucky College of Education on Monday, October 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This event offers a chance to learn about education majors, scholarships and more, while interacting with education professors, college leaders and current students. After the open house, guests are invited to lunch at Champions Kitchen and to join an optional admission information session and campus tour. To register, please fill out the form here.
