UTM updates


  • Scholarship Awards: We have started awarding merit-based scholarships for Fall 2021 and will continue awarding and upgrading through at least May. Students need ACT or SAT scores on file in order to be eligible for a scholarship. We super score the ACT and SAT, and we will take scores on transcripts, directly from you (counselors), or from the testing agencies. Our scholarships start at a 3.0 GPA and 20 ACT super score, and the chart is available at www.utm.edu/scholarships. 

 

  • Campus Tours: We are offering in-person tours with limited numbers and also continuing to offer virtual tours. Students can sign up for in-person and virtual visits at www.utm.edu/tour. We have dates available through December. 

 

  • UT Promise Application Deadline: With the deadline extension of the Tennessee Promise application to December 1, the UT Promise application deadline has been extended to December 15. The application and requirements are available on the UT Promise web site. Students must also meet TN Promise application and FAFSA deadlines. Students can qualify if they are eligible for the TN HOPE Lottery Scholarship and have a family adjusted gross income of $50,000 or less.

 

  • Admissions Counselor Virtual Meetings: Your students can up a one-on-one meetings with me around their schedules. They sign up through this link: https://calendly.com/utmbarrett

 

  • Transcripts & Test Scores: You are welcome to send in transcripts and test scores through email (to me), electronic platforms, or mail. Whatever is easiest for you!

 

  • Orientation for new Spring Students: We are hosting a virtual orientation session for new spring 2021 students on Friday, January 8. It is open to first-year students and transfer students, and students can sign up online. 

 

  • Skyhawk Football is Back! The UT Martin Skyhawks will be playing a winter 2021 football season along with the other Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) teams. The season kicks off on February 21!

Our   First Time Freshman Guide   also details step-by-step information about any incoming first year student’s next steps. Any student who was admitted to the University of Louisville without test scores on file or who does not meet the minimum math and/or reading requirements for their academic program may need to take the   Accuplacer . The Accuplacer is a course placement test given by the College Board that academic advisors will use to place the student into a math or English course. As a reminder, UofL does not accept KYOTE scores to be used for course placement, and KYOTE scores will not replace a student’s Accuplacer requirements.   . Hello counselors and greetings from the University of Kentucky!  September is an exciting month for the University of Kentucky! We have some key updates to share from our campus:   ADMISSION We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve begun sending out admission decisions for students who have completed their applications. If your student’s application is fully submitted and meets our criteria, they can receive your admission decision in as little as two weeks. We operate on a rolling basis throughout the year. Accepted students will receive electronic notification through their applicant portal, followed by an admission packet in the mail.
