U of L Cardinal Commitment Grant

At UofL, we want to support our local students and make pursuing a degree affordable. The Cardinal Commitment Grant, a last-dollar scholarship*, will cover tuition until a bachelor’s degree is earned for eligible students.

Cardinal Commitment Grant qualifications:

  • Admitted to UofL as a first-year student, enrolled full-time
  • Kentucky resident
  • 3.25 cumulative weighted GPA
  • 2023-2024 FAFSA on file with the University of Louisville
  • Pell Grant eligible

We are proud to exclusively offer this grant to our Kentucky students. Admitted students will see this award in their account in mid-February. I encourage students to apply to UofL and file the FAFSA, to see if they qualify, so they can take advantage of this opportunity.

*The award amount is locked from the time the grant is awarded until the student receives their first bachelor’s degree, regardless of changes to state or federal aid. You can view additional details and criteria here.

  . Hello counselors and greetings from the University of Kentucky!  September is an exciting month for the University of Kentucky! We have some key updates to share from our campus:   ADMISSION We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve begun sending out admission decisions for students who have completed their applications. If your student’s application is fully submitted and meets our criteria, they can receive your admission decision in as little as two weeks. We operate on a rolling basis throughout the year. Accepted students will receive electronic notification through their applicant portal, followed by an admission packet in the mail.
