University of Louisville March Update

Greetings from the University of Louisville!

As  students begin to finalize their college choice and look towards next steps, we want to remind students that they will be able to find all of their next steps in their New Cards Gateway. Our First Time Freshman Guide also details step-by-step information about any incoming first year student’s next steps.

Any student who was admitted to the University of Louisville without test scores on file or who does not meet the minimum math and/or reading requirements for their academic program may need to take the Accuplacer. The Accuplacer is a course placement test given by the College Board that academic advisors will use to place the student into a math or English course.

As a reminder, UofL does not accept KYOTE scores to be used for course placement, and KYOTE scores will not replace a student’s Accuplacer requirements. The Accuplacer can be taken both on campus or online, and students who qualify for free or reduced lunch will qualify to take the test for free as long as they work with our Testing Services center ahead of time. Students can find free study guides and more information about the Accuplacer testing on our website. Admitted students who need to take the Accuplacer have a checklist in their Gateway.

All admitted students can take the Accuplacer for free during Admitted Student Day on March 23 until we have reached registration capacity. Once a student is registered for Admitted Student Day, they will receive a link to sign up for their Accuplacer testing during the one-day event.

If you have any questions regarding next steps or placement testing, please contact your assigned admissions counselor. Thank you for all you do, and we hope that you enjoy the last few months of the school year!
