U of L September Update

 

Greetings from UofL,

As the new school year begins, we want to emphasize our commitment to supporting students and making a UofL education both attainable and affordable. Below are some key updates about UofL.

We are excited to announce the J.B. Speed School's new state-of-the-art building, where engineering students will have classes, tutoring, meetings with counselors, research labs and more. Construction is expected to be complete in the summer of 2025. Read more.

We would like to invite you to our largest annual open house on November 2, Cardinal Preview Day. Registration is now available! 

We have some exciting academic updates! We are now offering a BS in Biochemistry, a new Track in Biomedical Sciences as part of our BS in Biology and a BA in Political Science with a 3+3 Track to Law.

As you begin to work on your scholarship applications, please remember that you will always be awarded the highest award you qualify for. Find more information here.

As  students begin to finalize their college choice and look towards next steps, we want to remind students that they will be able to find all of their next steps in their   New Cards Gateway . Our   First Time Freshman Guide   also details step-by-step information about any incoming first year student’s next steps. Any student who was admitted to the University of Louisville without test scores on file or who does not meet the minimum math and/or reading requirements for their academic program may need to take the   Accuplacer . The Accuplacer is a course placement test given by the College Board that academic advisors will use to place the student into a math or English course. As a reminder, UofL does not accept KYOTE scores to be used for course placement, and KYOTE scores will not replace a student’s Accuplacer requirements.   . Hello counselors and greetings from the University of Kentucky!  September is an exciting month for the University of Kentucky! We have some key updates to share from our campus:   ADMISSION We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve begun sending out admission decisions for students who have completed their applications. If your student’s application is fully submitted and meets our criteria, they can receive your admission decision in as little as two weeks. We operate on a rolling basis throughout the year. Accepted students will receive electronic notification through their applicant portal, followed by an admission packet in the mail.
