  • Cardinal Commitment: We are offering a last-dollar scholarship for any Kentucky Pell-eligible student. Students who qualify for the Pell Grant will receive an additional grant that covers any tuition costs not already covered by the Pell Grant, state grants, KEES funds and/or any institutional scholarships. Any Pell-eligible Kentucky student with at least a cumulative 3.25 weighted GPA is eligible for this grant.
  • Test-Optional Admissions: We have extended the test-optional policy for the 2023 incoming class. Test-optional admissions will be based on a comprehensive review of the student’s course choices, GPA (weighted if available), attendance and overall academic performance. If a student submits test scores below our automatic admission standards, we will not use the scores to make an admission decision.
  • ScholarshipsWe offer a variety of scholarships and students may receive scholarships with or without test scores. Students without test scores will be considered through a comprehensive review of academic merit and rigor. Consistent Advanced Placement, Cambridge, International Baccalaureate, and/or dual credit coursework is required for consideration. We strongly encourage students with mid to high ACT/SAT scores to submit their scores to automatically receive additional awards.
  • New Academic Programs: UofL is excited to announce the addition of several new programs. Business Economics with a 3+3 Track to Law allows economics majors to receive their bachelor’s degree and law degree in just a combined total of 6 years. Additionally, we have added minors in Entrepreneurship in Music Industry, Statistics and Data Science, and Strategic Communication and Social Media.
  • Slate.org: We are encouraging all high school counselors to create an account with Slate.org. In addition to allowing counselors to track the application status of any student who applies to a university that uses Slate, creating an account allows schools to upload a school profile. This helps us determine eligibility for admission and scholarships.

If you have any questions, please reach out. Wishing you a great start to the school year!

Sincerely,

Anna Chambers
